For Arndt

When I was on route to Reyjkavik, I met a 15-year-old German boy, Arndt who was traveling with his family. He had just visited Florida for the first time and loved it. He was filled with enthusiasm. His father looked like an academic version of the lead singer of Iron & Wine. Lovely people. I told him about my book in progress. He told me about magma. Great imagination. It was one of the best conversations in my life. I heard from him today. : )

So now when I write about magma, I must do it well. For Arndt with his lovely imagination and gift for poetry.

Bioshock

Bioshock

Today a college kid I met briefly at the bookstore told me I reminded him of this character in a video game called 'Bioshock Infinite.' I don't play videogames but I have wanted to create a story for one or design some graphics. So I started watching a bit. It's fairly long and it's New Year's Eve so I would like to get out and do things now but I'll save it for later. The graphics are beautiful! Just watched the beginning with the setting in Maine and loved the lighthouse imagery.
