A Prayer πŸ™πŸ»

Sometime around 2009, I discovered this site while I was working one day in my home office in Burlington, VT. It is a beautiful site, Sacred Space, maintained by Irish Jesuits. Some day I would like to meet them. : )

β€œAt any time of the day or night we can call on God.
He is always waiting, listening for our call.
What a wonderful blessing.
No phone needed, no emails, just a whisper.”
— Sacred Space

Prayer has always comforted me and given me solace over the years. My mom has a childlike faith with such sweetness and trust. Praying is one of the best things I have learned from her. It helps restore a sense of calmness to me internally and an ability to trust in the goodness of my life despite any obstacle I face.

I hope this helps you in some way. ❀️✨

Serenity

You may have heard this prayer before, the β€œSerenity Prayer.” It has become associated with Alcoholics Anonymous (AA) and also with several self-improvement associations. The Serenity prayer itself though came from an American theologian of German origin, Reinhold Niebuhr (1892–1971). He first came up with the prayer in 1934 and there have been several versions since.

β€œGod, grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change,
Courage to change the things I can,
And wisdom to know the difference.”

The reason it has become so popular and adopted by so many is that it helps you grow while addressing problems you can control and letting go of what you cannot. It is incredibly wise and succinct.

I find in my own life that this is a wonderful prayer as it helps me in all the areas it says so clearly! You can apply it to anything. I hope it helps you too. I love its simplicity and its broad application!
