Possibility

Writing a friend helps me think. It inspired this post...I am kind of amazed at how I meet such beautiful people just out of the blue in the most ordinary of circumstances. I guess that is how life is. It is brilliant and it is transitory. I have to enjoy and appreciate those moments when they happen.

When I was a kid, we lived in Copenhagen for the summer. I was 15. The world seemed so full of possibility and beauty to me. I could not wait to get out, explore and see how it would unfold. I loved how the sun did not go to bed early. It stayed bright outside till 10 p.m. - even later than at home in Vermont!

Everyone was so friendly and welcoming to me. I was a skinny kid and everyone was trying to get me to bundle up in the evenings. I remember a lot of hugs : )

My mom's friend took me down to Amsterdam one weekend. I loved the trains and just the spirit of adventure. After having a private tutor in French for five years, I found it amazing to put it to use when we went to Belgium and Luxembourg and I could read everything and talk to everyone.

That spirit of adventure and the conviction that life is amazing and full of wonderful possibility was an incredible feeling. I feel that again for the first time since I was 15. I feel that life is unfolding as it was meant to be - wonderful, whole, exciting with adventure with good people I know and new people I will meet. Now I can live that. : )
